About Wendy

Life can be hard. Being a kid can be hard, being a parent can be hard, and being a part of a family can be hard.

As a Registered Social Worker, I believe that we’re all just trying to do the best we can with what we have. In my work with young people and their families, my hope is to help families strengthen their relationships and build the resilience that will help them get through challenging times. My goal is to help people develop the skills and tools they need to achieve the life they want to live. Using techniques drawn from cognitive behavioural, play, and narrative therapies, and with a generous helping of humour and fun, I collaborate with families to develop treatment plans to meet their unique goals. I focus on disrupting negative narratives to build self-esteem and a sense of self-efficacy in young people, which helps to fight the pressures and anxieties that so many struggle with. I think we all hold the potential within ourselves to live happy and meaningful lives, and I look forward to helping your family unlock all your potential.

Work aside, I enjoy travelling (over 30 countries and counting!), am an avid reader, and a big Toronto Blue Jays fan. I’m an active member of Edmonton’s theatre community and you can sometimes find me on stage at the Fringe Festival or the Walterdale Theatre. I have a large and close-knit family and they are my favorite people in the world.
