About Kayla

Since completing my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2016, I have gathered several years’ experience supporting pediatric clients and their families in community, mental health, school and acute care settings. I also have pursued specialized training in the area of trauma healing and mental health and most recently received certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).

My style is grounded, gentle, connection-focused, and curiousity-driven. I value a relational and client-led approach where we work together as co-creators to understand where you are now and discover pathways that lead to where you dream of being. In my practice I love working with families and folks who are looking for support with emotion regulation, mental health, developmental trauma and attachment, and sensory processing.

I live with deep gratitude in amiskwaciwâskahikan (also known as Edmonton) and recognize the devastating ongoing impacts of colonialism on the health of Indigenous people and this beautiful land. I am committed to the continual learning and action required to practice and live in an anti-oppressive way.
