About Jessica

Hi, I’m Jessica! I grew up in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island and completed my Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. Shortly afterwards, I moved to Edmonton to complete my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta and have been here ever since! I was drawn to occupational therapy because it allows me to be creative and create individualized interventions to help others enjoy life to the fullest!

During my career, I have supported children and families through my work at non-profit organizations, public health, private practice, and school boards. My experiences working on multi-disciplinary teams and forming collaborative relationships allows me to truly deliver a family-centered approach to practice.

My clinical scope of practice includes, assessment and intervention around feeding and swallowing, sensory and motor development, visual-motor development, activities of daily living, and challenging behaviours. I work primarily with children but also enjoy supporting neurodivergent adults. I also have a special interest in providing mentorship to other professionals, including Occupational Therapy students. I strongly believe that therapy should be play-based, individualized, and most importantly – fun! I strive to deliver neurodiversity-affirming practices through my work.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my sassy cat (Milo), and my energetic golden retriever (Penny)! I especially love trying out new restaurants in the city, exploring the river valley trails, and spending time with friends.
