Occupational Therapist

About Heather

Hi, I’m Heather! I’m an Occupational Therapist based in Edmonton, though I grew up in Calgary. I completed my Bachelor of Health and Physical Education with a major in Physical Literacy at Mount Royal University, followed by my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta. After finishing school, I decided to settle in Edmonton with my husband and our puppy, and I’ve loved building both my home and career here.

I absolutely love working with children of all ages and supporting them through each stage of their development. My background as an Early Childhood Educator gave me valuable experience supporting children in their early years, while my ongoing work at the Stollery Children’s Hospital continues to strengthen my ability to think on my feet and adapt when supporting children and families in high-stress settings. I also bring a unique and creative perspective to my sessions from my years of teaching dance and circus arts, which helps me make therapy fun, dynamic, and engaging.

My approach to therapy is all about making it fun, meaningful, and connection-driven. I meet families where they are and work collaboratively to make therapy an experience that feels both positive and empowering. I’m passionate about ensuring every child I work with feels safe, loved, and free to be their authentic, silly selves.

Outside of work, I stay connected to what I love through dance and performance. I’ve had the pleasure of dancing for several professional sports teams, including the Calgary Roughnecks, Edmonton Elks, and Edmonton Stingers. When I’m not dancing, you can find me lifting weights, crocheting, exploring the outdoors, or spending time with friends (and making the occasional trip back to Calgary to visit family and the mountains!).

I can’t wait to connect and support you and your family on your journey!
